Smart Ops was tasked by the local Municipality to clean the Ganesh Talav Lake in Pimpri Chinchwad  Mumbai.

Using Smart Ops SCR System to treat the 40 million litres of water in a lake which was subject to continual sewage and effluent pollution at levels far higher than permitted and unsuitable for any type of use. The lake was highly polluted, with aquatic life struggling to breathe and frequently surfacing to survive in the water, which was also releasing a strong odour.

​Our technology successfully brought oxygen demand, algal cells and suspended solids well below legal NGT (National Green Tribunal) standard levels in under 48 hours, producing water which was fit to drink. Dissolved oxygen levels increased from 2.8mg/L to over 6mg/L.

In terms of the requirement from the Central Government of India this meets all of their requirements in terms of:

1. The water courses being capable of supporting aquatic life all year round
2. Lakes and Ponds being clean enough to be utilised a water reserves during times of water stress – with some minor additional treatment this water could be made potable.
3. The Lake is currently free of any and all smells and odours and the beautification works performed as part of the project has added significant value to the area.
4. As can be seen from the Photos the S.A.B.R.E technology has had a marked impact on the levels of sludge in the lake.
   
   

This project a resounding success in terms of the technological performance of the technology and would be confident in saying that the technology has performed as promised.

1. No foaming of the lake as would have occurred with the previously proposed aerators
2. The ability of the lake to support aquatic life without fish dying off in the hot season
3. The beautification of the lake the treated water is crystal clear (see figure 3 below)
4. The lake is free of smells and odours 5. The S.A.B.R.E technology suite is aiding in controlling sludge build up in the Lake
